Dapples on a Vincenzo
I recently took on a commission to turn a Brigitte Eberl Vincenzo into a dappled grey unicorn. I am not only fascinated by the mold because it's so unique, but turning him into a unicorn seems to be the perfect fit.
There are so many ways to dapple and handle paint and this is just another way to get some very interesting dappling effects.

Fine Arts Fiesta
Today I spent time away from the studio and taking in art at the annual Fine Arts Fiesta in Wilkes Barre, PA. This year I decided to enter one of my "Listen" sculptures. The very last time I entered anything in the Fiesta was when I was 19.
I was happily surprised to find that my porcelain sculpture took second in the sculpture division this year. I must admit it was strange to walk into the fiesta and see it under glass just sitting there for everyone to view.
I feel very inspired this evening after viewing everyone's art to make many things.

Mural in Montauk, NY
chalks and pencil.
The beginning of this week found me completing a large beach scene mural in a nursery. I documented part of the process as it was quite a large wall to cover and the transformation was a huge learning experience as I have never painted a mural so large.
The mural and the three tiny vignettes which were painted on the other walls took two days to complete.

Ocean Mural
Sand. Dunes. Seashells. Sand castle. Umbrella....and all things "beachy". A sketch for a wall mural has been on my mind this weekend and on my desk as of late. Took photos as the sketch was progressing. Thought it would be fun to share. I'm sure there will be changes before it hits the actual wall, but for now this is the result of all those words put together on a canvas.
